Australian Merino Production Trial

The Australian Merino Production Trial 2023-2025 has kicked off with the AMPT wethers settling into their new home under a long-term grazing agreement at the Temora Agricultural Innovation Centre (TAIC).TAIC boasts excellent facilities, providing a conducive environment for the AMPT trials. Having previously seen success at TAIC, this partnership further strengthens the bond between Farmlink Research and Redgum River Pastoral Company, ensuring top-notch insights for producers.

Scheduled for shearing on March 7th and 8th, 2024, the wethers' progress is promising. Currently grazing on Lucerne pastures, our aim is to have them reach an average weight of 60kg by March, showcasing healthy growth and resilience against fleece rot during the rainy summer months.
