Since Mid-June anyone entering Sydney hi-risk areas and leaving the area had to self- isolate for 14 days. Our sales team qualified to isolate and chose to continue until sales went into recess on the 15th July. I applaud John Nixon and Andrew Miller for their dedication. However, it would be unreasonable of me to expect that this could continue when sales resume.
After an exhaustive consultation period with Exporters and Industry the following process will be implemented. When wool sales resumed (and beyond) Moses & Son engaged contract auctioneers and data capture staff to perform our Auction sales functions. This will be backed up by live video feeds from the sales room which have been under testing for some time now. Whilst not our preferred option it is the best option to keep our staff and the regional communities they live in.
Moses & Son intend to return to normal Auction Sale room function when the Sydney and NSW restrictions are lifted.
We are 100% confident that the new interim arrangement will produce results equal to the normal sale processes.
